The Game Boy is a handheld game console made by Nintendo and the successor to their previous line of handheld games, The Game & Watch. It was introduced on April 21, 1989 in Japan and July 31, 1989 in North America and was discontinued in March 23, 2003, making it one of the longest-surviving consoles of the forth-generation. Mostly, they came in grey and featured several versions such as Game Boy Light, Game Boy Pocket, and the transparent Play It Loud! series. The Game Boy also ran on 4 AA batteries and featured a yellow tinted screen.

The Nerd would later review various Game Boy accessories such as the Super Game Boy and Game Boy Camera.
